Simon Sadler takes over at Bloomfield Road

New Owner for Bloomfield Road.

A new owner has been announced at Blackpool FC.

96.2% of the shares at Blackpool FC have now transferred to the new owner announced today as Simon Sadler.

Sadler, a Local lad was born in Bispham and attended Warbreck High. Later in life He founded Hong Kong-based hedge fund Segantii Capital. The hedge fund is said to be worth over $1Billion

Simon attended a home game against Peterborough United earlier this year and it is rumoured that current board members Ben Hatton and Michael Bolingbroke will likely stay at the club after the transition.

He also packaged up the Bloomfield Road ground, The Blackpool FC Hotel AND the training ground at Squires Gate Lane in the deal.

The EFL officially approved the purchase earlier today.

Mr Sadler said: “It is my great honour and privilege to become the owner and custodian of Blackpool Football Club. By providing financial stability and investment over time, my intention is for the Club to achieve its full potential. I will ensure that the club is managed with the interests of all stakeholders in mind.

Current Management

Micheal Bollingbroke, Ian Currie and Ben Hatton have been confirmed as staying in their roles at the club at least during the transition but are expected to remain afterwards.

Mr Bolingbroke said: “We are very pleased to welcome Mr Sadler as our new owner, and Mr Gerrity as a Board member.

“Mr Sadler is investing in a club with undoubted potential, and his investment will benefit not just the first team squad, but also help improve the club’s training facilities and Academy programme and will actively assist in the club’s re-engagement with the Blackpool community. Exciting times are ahead!”
