Derelict Ambassador Hotel Fire

A Fire broke out on the top floor of the ambassador hotel last night .

Fire crews were seen rushing along the promenade just before 9PM. Fire Crews were on scene until 00:20 to ensure that the fire was well and truly out.
The hotel had been unoccupied and derelict for over 6 years according to a Police SGT on the scene.
A friend known to the editor had recently been working on the property to remove the pigeons and their years of mess on the top floors with a view to renovating the property.

It’s unclear how the fire started.

2 Fire engines, a high access platform and the fire investigation crew were on scene when we arrived.
The building has recently been stripped out and was being cleaned of pigeons and the 6 years of mess they had left.
Investigations were being carried out as to the source of the fire which appears to have only affected the top floor of the building.
Lancashire Fire and rescue services Bronto Skylift was on the scene to help damp down the building well after the blaze was extinguished.
The only visible damage from the exterior was the charred window on the top floor.
