Stefi and Jodie are two friends from Blackpool who are raising money for Michelle and her family following a devastating diagnosis by medical professionals.
On her Go Fund Me Page – Stefi has explained…
“Many of you will be aware or heard the news Michelle received late last year. After suffering for years with chronic pain and a long history of stomach complaints she was finally diagnosed with Cancer
The cancer formed in her Gall bladder, then travelled into her liver and is now at Metastatic Stage 4.
Michelle was hoping to go on a trial drug but unfortunately does not have the correct blood type and has recently found out that the cancer has now spread to her Lymph nodes and has been placed on end of life
Currently Michelle is undergoing a heavy course of chemotherapy which is two weeks on and one week off. This is to ensure she has the best possible chance of trying to contain the cancer for as much time with her family as possible.”
Following a number of setbacks due to Covid Michelle, her partner Ash and their 3 children lost out on 4 holidays that had been paid for and Michelle lost her job. This was just before the diagnosis. It left the whole family devastated.
Following news of the Diagnosis, Stefi turned to social media in order to start raising funds for Michelle and her family to ensure that the children are looked after and have the best time possible with their mum to make lasting memories.
As well as appealing directly for donations and also asking customers from Burgerhain Music Themed Food to dip a few quid out of their pocket when they are ordering food via Blackpool Eats – YES – you can add an extra pound or 2 for the good cause when online ordering. Russ proprietor of Burgerhain tells us that Stefi is their best burger artist.
Jodie and Stefi are now embarking on 100 miles in total on their bikes dressed as flamingos – all in aid of Michelles fund.
Today saw the pretty pink flamingos cycle from the Burgerhain LIVE HQ at The Waterloo Music Bar – all the way down the promenade to Gynn Square and back again knocking 6 miles off their total today. Only 94 miles to push!
You can keep track of the Flamingos migratory behaviour along the promenade on their new Facebook page started today
