ESSENTIAL CHANGES TO COUNCIL SERVICES
Due to the rapidly escalating nature of the coronavirus pandemic, a number of Blackpool Council services are to be suspended or limited:
ℹ️ Libraries: closed from 5pm, Friday 20 March until further notice:
– Layton
– Revoe
– Mereside
– Anchorsholme
– @The Grange
– Palatine
– Moor Park
ℹ️ Central Library: closed from 5pm on March 20, will reopen early April.
ℹ️ Grundy Art Gallery: closed with immediate effect and until further notice.
ℹ️ Leisure Centres: closed from end of business Friday 20 March until further notice, including swimming pools:
– Blackpool Sports Centre
– Moor Park Leisure Centre
– Palatine Leisure Centre
Active Blackpool memberships will be frozen and members will be contacted individually. If you believe we don’t have your email address, please fill out our form on the membership page.
ℹ️ Sandcastle Waterpark: closed until further notice.
ℹ️ All of our outdoor parks remain open.
ℹ️ Council Business Centres: open from 23 March with managed reception service:
– FYC
– Enterprise Centre
From the same date, the reception area at Healthworks on Clifton Street will be closed to clients.
Job Centre and other employment advice will be delivered via telephone interviews.
ℹ️ The Solaris Centre: closed with immediate effect until further notice, including cafe.
ℹ️ Highfield Day Centre: closed with immediate effect until further notice.
ℹ️ Family hubs: closed until further notice with the exception of:
– Grange Park
– Talbot & Brunswick
Both of the above will continue to operate with a reduced offer.
ℹ️ Housing Options: open for face to face appointments during the afternoon from Monday 23 March. At other times, customers will be encouraged to seek assistance by phone.
Where possible, council services will move to more contact by phone or email rather than face to face.
