So who’s entered into this year’s Summer 10k? The Fylde Coast Runners’ hottest event of the year takes place this Sunday and with the forecast suggesting temperatures of around 27 degrees with not a cloud in the sky, this year it’s going to be a scorcher!
If you want to support the runners as they battle with the heat to complete this 10k, make sure that you get yourself down to the Promenade. The run kicks off at 9:30am from Middle Walkway on the North Promenade in Blackpool. This is a popular running event with both the upper and lower parts of the promenade being used.
The Association of UK Course measurers has certified that this course is an accurate 10k and is fully licensed by and organised following the rules laid out by UK Athletics. If you’ve been following the couch to 10K, or if you’ve just been hitting the gym really hard lately, this is the time to test your performance.
If you’re still hoping to sign up for the event, you’ve missed the deadline for online entry now, but as long as you’re going to be aged 15 or older on the day, you may still be able to sign up when you arrive. Entry for the run on the day is £21 with a £2.50 discount for younger runners aged 15-17.
Good luck to all the runners participating in the Summer 10k this weekend!
