It has been revealed that the Labour Party has suspended Councillor Simon Blackburn, leader of Blackpool Council over serous allegations, although it is currently unclear what these allegations are.

Councillor Blackburn is a father of 3 and has been the leader of Blackpool’s Labour group since 2010 and has led the council since 2011. He is the representative for Brunswick ward and at one point was the Deputy Chief Executive of a local supported housing charity.
Neither Blackpool Council nor Councillor Blackburn have released a statement about this, so we will keep you updated when we find out more.
