FIREWORKS ON TONIGHT

Tonight there will be a free fireworks display on the promenade (paid for by northern rail) – To compensate local travellers for cancelling services and running bus replacement services  Northern rail have stumped up £45k to Blackpool council who decided to put on an extra night of fireworks. Northern rail workers are also on strike today.

The fireworks we assume will be centred around North pier with spectators encouraged to gather on the Tower festival headland. We’ve had a good search today and can’t find anything to suggest the fireworks will be cancelled due to rain however if this does change we will update this article so check back.

“Visit Blackpool are delighted to announce an EXTRA Firework Display – FIREWORK FIESTA on Saturday 13th October from North Pier at 8.30pm.”

The footage below was taken by local lad and Manchester Giants Basketball player Mark Rangeley  who among other skills – is also a drone pilot (and thoroughly nice fella to boot.)

For the latest info about the display tonight check out the FB event page.
