For many years now Thornton based Awesome Weekends have been offering package holidays IN Blackpool. Awesome weekends had everything set up, hotels, activities, shows you name it they could book it. However as of the 13th of August the company is in insolvency leaving many holiday makers and hoteliers out of pocket.
Their website today reads:-
“AWESOME WEEKENDS HAVE CEASED TRADING AS OF 13/08/18. FOR ANY ENQUIRIES REGARDING YOUR BOOKING PLEASE CONTACT FRANCESCA VIVACE OF CAMPBELL CROSSLEY & DAVIS ON 01253 349331-ALL BOOKINGS DUE TO TRAVEL 16/08/18 TO 19/08/18 ARE UNAFFECTED”
If you’re a local and don’t seem familiar with the company – they are maybe more well known for the blue “VIP” wristband which was sold to tourists in the resort offering discounts on meals and other admissions throughout the town. This wristband was also given to everyone who booked with awesome weekends as a perk on their booking.
It’s not clear at this time why the company has gone into administration and It’s also uncertain what will happen to the existing bookings that the company had for the remainder of the season.
