AFISHAL at Lightpool

Visitors to lightpool festival this year are in for an extra special treat seeing the return to the town of a drummer with a difference.

“THE TREMOR” is the name of the invention thought up by percussionist Michael Fish AKA AFISHAL. People who used to frequent local clubs such as Sanuk and the Syndicate a few years ago might remember him as “that fella on the bongos” or “that drummer guy” but some of us remember him simply as FISH.

The last time the editor saw FISH was after a randy ron gig at Sanuk where – Now – Radio 1 DJ Danny Howard was playing that night. This was not many weeks before Danny entered the Radio 1 comp to become the new Dance Music presenter for BBC Radio 1 – He’s been at radio 1 ever since.

AFISHAL has also been on the move. He’s more than likely sick of the sight of airports now – His official AFISHAL facebook page is full of pictures and videos from his adventures around the globe playing some of the hottest gigs on the planet.

Fish tried his hand at Britains Got Talent where he made his mark as fish on percussion.

AFISHAL was regularly seen playing in Blackpool with another local lad Ben Barnett known as TheSaxMan. Ben has also had his own globetrotting adventures and has played some of the most exclusive bars, beach clubs and events you could imagine. These lads worked hard in Blackpool to make their names and global success has beckoned them. Add local lad Danny Howard to that mix and it’s safe to say that Blackpool has got talent even if fish didn’t win on BGT. It was probably the best thing to happen. He’s since gone on to make his own name under a new brand and each video he’s putting out on social media seems to be going viral… Like this one…

You can see AFISHAL AND TheSaxMan – Ben Barnett BOTH performing on stage TOGETHER in Blackpool at Lightpool next week. Click here for more details on the lightpool festival.
