Blackpool’s Christmas By The Sea event this year is set to take place from 17 November to 1 January from 12-9pm daily.
Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland has been transformed into a festive village with an outdoor skating rink, simulated snowfalls, log cabins, light installations, projection shows, and festive fairground rides.
The event also features extended opening hours for the free skating rink, themed log cabins with food, drink, and gifts, Christmas trees, and festive tram rides (pre booking required).
Additionally, there will be a variety of themed children’s attractions and new thrill rides, including a 100ft-long snow slide.
The Christmas village is designed to provide a unique and memorable Christmas experience for visitors to Blackpool, with many attractions, including the skating rink, projection shows, snowfalls, and light installations, being free to access.
Some of the larger rides cost to participate But visitors will find the pricing similar to that of other regional Christmas markets.
Blackpool council are offering parking for £1 on what remains of the central car park. One condition of this is that you pay for parking online.
The offer runs from November 17 to January 1 to coincide with the return of the spectacular Christmas By The Sea event which has attracted record crowds to the Promenade for the past two years. It was introduced to complement a two-month extension to the traditional Illuminations season.
The parking offer can only be redeemed using the PayByPhone system. All you need to do is download the PayByPhone app and register, or call 0800 546 0609.
Three-hour sessions are limited to one per day after which normal tariffs apply. Filey Place and Talbot Multi-Storey car parks are not included in the offer.

The various huts around the festival headland contain different businesses selling goods and food. This year also sees the return of the Star flyer / Sky Dancer ride.
Toasted marshmallows, churros, Greek Gyros, Authentic German sausage, burgers and some of the finest selection of pick n mix and fudge available in the northwest can be found on the festival headland.
The pick N mix and fudge were £3.50 per Kilo. (Which isn’t as much as you’d think so pick carefully.)
One of the cabins was preparing and selling Yorkshire pudding wraps – with a variety of fillings available. (prices may be subject to variance)
Among the many attractions for children you can find this bungee / trampoline experience where kids can feel weightless for a few minutes. This was fairly reasonable at £4.50
There are stalls selling hot drinks and other refreshments and this years event features a licensed bar with dedicated security.
